Our office carries a variety of safety frames that are designed for use at jobs that require OSHA certified safety glasses. They include detachable side shields, which means that your safety frames can be worn at home or at work. We also carry sports glasses that are made of reinforced nylon and feature padding on the inside of the frame. These are ideal for sports with a high risk of head injuries such as basketball, soccer, volleyball, and more. Lastly, our office services lots of motorcycle riders with prescription eyewear. We have frames that are Z87.2 compliant (a requirement for Florida motorcycle riders).
Many of our patients struggle to have a single pair of glasses that work well at home AND while they are on their computer at work – especially if the wearer is using a computer workstation for upwards of 8-10 hours a day. Our eye doctors take special care to screen patients who may be candidates for specialized computer glasses. Sometimes the eye doctor will prescribe a custom power specific to the distance between the patients’ faces and their computer screens. These lenses can also be optimized for computer stations that have multiple screens or other custom setups. All computer glasses that we offer have a variety of options to help absorb and block the harmful blue light that is emitted from modern computer screens.
Our doctors have years of successful experience fitting patients with hard to fit hybrid and scleral contact lenses. These are particularly helpful and sight-saving to patients who suffer from keratoconus, pellucid marginal degeneration, corneal transplants, and high degrees of astigmatism.
