Iris Matsukado, OD

Originally from Honolulu, Hawaii, Dr. Iris Matsukado (Mott-soo-kah-dough) is a respected optometrist, pediatric eye doctor, and contact lens specialist at True Eye Experts. Her decades of experience and diverse clinical training bring a multitude of expertise and skill to our practice.

Dr. Matsukado’s Experience

Dr. Matsukado graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Creighton University in Omaha, NE, and her Bachelor of Science in Visual Science from the Illinois College of Optometry. In the following years, she received clinical training at the Illinois Eye Institute, Sidney Hillman Health Center, and Great Lakes Naval Training Center. She also completed her residency in Pediatrics and Binocular Vision at the Illinois Eye Institute.

After working as an Instructor of Optometry in Cornea and Specialty Contact Lenses at the Illinois College of Optometry, she then had the chance to work with both the Toronto Blue Jays and the Dunedin Blue Jays. Today, she is True Eye Experts’ go-to pediatric eye doctor and contact lenses specialist.

When she’s not giving her all as an eye doctor, Dr. Matsukado is an Advanced Competitor in AAU Karate competitions and spends her free time giving back to the sport as a State and National Referee and Jr. Olympic coach.
