Pediatric Eye Exams
According to experts, 80% of learning is visual, which means that if your child is having difficulty seeing clearly, his or her learning can be affected. This also goes for infants who develop and learn about the world around them through their sense of sight. To ensure that your children have the visual resources they need to grow and develop normally, their eyes and vision should be checked by an eye doctor at certain stages of their development.

Dry Eye Disease and Treatment
Dry eye syndrome (DES) is a chronic condition that develops when your eyes do not produce and maintain enough tears to keep the eye’s surface lubricated.

Farsightedness
Both farsightedness (hyperopia) and nearsightedness (myopia) are principally caused by an abnormality in the shape of the eyeball. A normal spherical eyeball refracts light so that its images come into focus at just the right point on the retina at the back of the eye. But where an elongated eyeball causes the image to form in front of the retina in a case of myopia, in farsighted individuals a foreshortened eyeball causes the image to come into focus too far back, at some imaginary behind beyond the retina. Farsightedness isn’t quite common as nearsightedness, but it still afflicts up to one-quarter of the population.

Nearsightedness
If you can see long distances just fine but close-up objects have you squinting and straining your eyes, you probably suffer from a very common refractive error known as nearsightedness, also called myopia.

Astigmatism
If all of our Tampa and New Port Richey patients’ refractive disorders were limited to nearsightedness and farsightedness, prescribing accurate vision correction would be a relatively straightforward process.

All About CRT & OrthoK
Even though eyeglasses and traditional contact lenses are proven to correct nearsightedness, farsightedness, and other visual problems. Some people will always seek the freedom & convenience of wearing no corrective lenses of any kind during their daily activities. While many are willing to go ahead with long-term solutions such as laser surgery, others would prefer a less invasive, more reversible answer. There is a solution to this known as corneal refractive therapy or CRT — overnight reshaping lenses fit and dispensed at True Eye Experts in Tampa, FL.

Myopia Control For Children
Myopia Control is the beginning of stopping nearsightedness in children, preventing their glasses from getting thicker every year, and ultimately ensuring healthy eyesight for their future.

At our clinics in New Tampa and New Port Richey, we offer treatment and screening for diabetic eye health to limit the risk of losing your vision and understanding the options available when problems develop.
